The family of shelters for the new downtown Cincinnati streetcar system was the last project I led and completed for DNK Architects before my departure in the end of 2011.

The challenges of engaging the reinvented Downtown/Over-the-Rhine streetcar system in a dialogue with its built environment resulted in several iterations of the shelter design.  The final product is a modular family featuring a simple canopy and an enclosed option to reflect the use in different streetscapes.  The design combines tempered, laminated glass in a point-supported system, structural and perforated steel, and spider fittings.
